G-POWER Bodywork

G-POWER body parts not only improve aerodynamics but also offer a sporting and elegant appearance of your car.
Available for all models, the bodywork programm is subdivided into two design lines.
On one hand to emphasize the styling of the BMW series, on the other hand to give your BMW an individual appearance.
The fastening will be carried out – according to standard – on all mounting points and is made of lightweight materials as Kevlar or GFG, providing the possibility of easy repairing at small damages.

„BMW und ALPINA präsentieren Ihnen hier als Gesamtkunstwerk den leistungsfähigsten, bestverarbeiteten und teuersten serienmäßig käuflichen Gran Turismo deutscher Produktion“ – mit dieser Ankündigung stellte ALPINA Gründer Burkard Bovensiepen im Jahr 1992 der Presse das BMW ALPINA B12 5,7 Coupé vor. Auf Basis des BMW 850 CSi Coupé (E31) entstanden Anfang der 1990er Jahre in Buchloe in exklusiver Kleinserie 57 Automobile des V12 Klassikers. Gemeinsam mit dem BMW ALPINA B12 5,0 – von dem zwischen 1990 und 1994 ebenfalls nur rare 97 Exemplare auf Basis des BMW 850 Ci produziert wurden – bildete das Coupé die Speerspitze der damaligen ALPINA Modellpalette.

The B12 5,7 Coupé is the fastest car Alpina have ever made.

It is based on the BMW 850CSi which came in fall 1992 and the B12 came about a half year later.
Alpina have admitted that with the 850 CSi, BMW and BMW Motorsport have done a terrific job so their idea with the B12 5,7 was just to enchance a few things on the CSi.



Engine/Gearbox :

The engine is based on the BMW Motorsport prepared 5,6 litre V12.
The engine has grown in size to 5,7 litre.
They have also done some modifications to the intake-system, crankshaft and camshafts.
A new exhaust system is used with Alpina´s stainless steel catalytic converters and they have reprogrammed the Motronic Management system.
The changes result in 416...

If you wanted a more fun and even faster 850i you would have to go for this car. The Alpina B12 5,0 Coupé.

It came in 1991 and has the same engine as the B12 5,0 Limousine.
A total of 97 cars were built.


Engine/Gearbox :

The engine is based on BMW´s 5,0 litre V12 unit.

The displacement is unchanged at 5,0 litre, as are the block,crankshaft, connecting rods, inlet and exhaust manifolds and cooling system.
Different Mahle pistons raise the compression,larger inlet valves,more valve lift and changed valve timing get more mixture into the engine.
The combustion chambers are changed to accommodate the larger inlet.
New three-way metal catalysts and new stainless steel exhaust systems are also fitted....

The guiding principle behind the development of a bodystyling kit for the 8-series coupé was to achieve a functional design which complemented the overall appearance of the standard model.

The functional feature of the front spoiler and rear skirt with its wing-like profile is improved downforce.
A special rear wing was also developed to reduce lift on the rear.
The side skirts have air inlets underneath, directing extra cooling air to the rear brakes.
The AC Schnitzer sports mirrors look particularly good on the BMW coupé as they share the essential design features of this classic vehicle.
All aerodynamic components are produced in a complex production process using kevlar-reinforced GRP.
