2017 International Meeting.

Hello everyone

The 2017 International meeting will run from May 4th to 7th in France.

We will be based in Colmar city (Alsace region).

2 Hotels: Mercure and Ibis that are 200 meters from each other and close of a large cars parking.

Hotels are in the city center, 98/110€/night single, 111€/125€/night double.

Ibis Styles (11 Boulevard du Champ de Mars), 47 rooms.
Mercure Champs de Mars (2 Avenue de la Marne) with meeting rooms, 76 rooms.


Pre-program :

THURSDAY
Arrive on Colmar.
Check in & installation at the hotel, free dinner.

FRIDAY
Departure for the Schlumpf Automobile Museum in Mulhouse.
Visit the museum.
Lunch at the museum restaurant "Atelier".

Back in Colmar by the South ridge road.
Free dinner in Colmar.

SATURDAY
Departure for the Haut Koenigsbourg castle via the North ridge road.
Visit Castle.
Lunch in the area.

Visit of a wine cellar or the Silver Mine of St Barthelemy.
Return to the hotel.
Gala Dinner at Hotel Mercure.

SUNDAY
Check out
Departure to visit Strasbourg or Colmar downtown.
Lunch

End of Meeting and back home.

We open the registrations for the International Meeting of BMW Serie 8 Clubs which will take place in France around Colmar city from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th of May 2017.

the French Club will organize this year’s International Meeting.
Antonin TEYSSIR has published the date and program in time. Actually there are no questions unanswered.
Maybe a bit more marketing within the Forum would have been recommended or just publishing the list of participants.


2014 - about 130 8er BMW have been in Munich, surely a special date
2015 - Valencia, Spain. About 40 8er BMW. Even in Spain the Russian „delegation“ included more cars than the German one
2016 - Netherlands - we haven’t been there but we would have like to. Unfortunately it „overlapped“ with our France - Italy Toure.
2017 - The French are thinking about a cancellation! Because of the little registrations.
(Sarcasm ON: The Munich group of regulars is usually better attended - Sarcasm OFF)


Is there really no interest of an International Meeting? Where are the Swiss, Austrians - this is nearly on your doorstep. What about the German? There are so many 8er owners in the Rhine Valley. South Germany, West Germany - this is no distance for you! At the beginning the Scandinavian showed their interest, are there some participants from Norway, Sweden? What about Spain, Italy, UK and all the other countries?


Personally I thin it would be a shame if the Meeting has to be cancelled. BMW 8er Community?


Hopefully the one or other will still give a feedback / Registration at Antonin.
I hope to see you in Colmar.

Hi Heinz,

I'm fully with you. Cancellation of an 8er meeting is a clear no no.
As I already wrote in an email to ANtonin today I think we need more promotion.
My impression is, that meanwhile there is more activity on FB than in the spezialised forums.
Let's use FB to promote the meeting and reopen the registration window for another month.
Why is it necessary to close it 2.5 months before the event takes place?

Many thanks Wokke for your support and try to find solutions...
Because of Hotel booking deadline … After we can't assume rooms availability, I pre-book for free 48 rooms after we have to manage cancellation policy with hotels.

Hi EVERYBODY!

To us (me and Paula) a cancellation would be really tragic, both emotional and economically.
My bad of course, making non-refundable bookings in order to keep costs down.

Opt 1: is a no go
Opt 2: sure thing
Opt 3: Spa. Not possible - other bookings already made - Btw, it doesn't feel like a serious 8er event.

From Scandinavia Alexander and me is coming from Sweden.
Bo & Bente will show up from Denmark. That is what I'm sure of today.

Me too think it would be a shame if the Meeting has to be cancelled.

This is the thread for all (the other one is for the Germanspeaking members).

I think that you guys must not change this meeting at all!


Don't expect the old numbers, when you are Lucky you have 40 or more cars, but what is the problem when it is 30?

We all come to have a great time amongst friends and when there are a lot of cars it's nice on the pictures but doesn't mean that the meeting is more or less!


I think there will be more that 30 cars, so please proceed (and let us know a.s.a.p.) so when can push members to come.


The only thing you can perhaps change is the date of subscribe and paying for it.


Let's do our best for this wonderfull meeting our French friends have planned for us.

Hi Dick

As I say … We have a deadline to respect and no derogation by Hotels, I pre-booked 48 rooms for free those rooms will be lost at the end of February.
I can let 10 days max to recover € from members who want to reach the meeting but after they will have to managed by themselves.
